Rick Deckard

A monochromatic painting done on illustration board with pencils and black watercolors for deepening tones.   The illustration board was pretty toothy, so it was hard to create subtle transition of tones, but it was fun.    Size:  15"x20".

Here's a commission piece I did recently featuring a character I knew very little about.   I was requested a sketch from a fan at the Motor City con but didn't know anything about her, so I had to opt to sketching something else.  I've gotten to know her character a bit more working on this piece an she's fascinating!   Definitely looking forward to doing more drawings of her in the future.   Size:  15"x 20" on illustration board.   Medium:  Pen and Inks.

Into Fat Air

There were some posters for the Family Guy episode I directed, "Into Fat Air" that were handed out to fans at the San Diego Comic con this year.     The episode is set to be the season premiere that airs in September.

Wolverine vs. Sentinel

Had a wonderful time at the Motor City con!   Thank you guys for coming by the table to say hi.   I felt extremely humbled to see so many people who checked out the art on display.   I loved the experience at Detroit.   We'll try again next year!    Wolverine vs. Sentinel.   What more can ya say except I had a blast with this one.   Size:  15"x20"  on illustration board,  pen and ink.

A painting I did of one of my favorite sci fi films. The lettering is a bit wacky looking, but at least it gets the idea across for a conceptualized poster piece. Size: 15"x20" on illustration board. Medium: Acrylics and color pencils.

Motor City Comic Con

Hey gang!   This week I'll be at the Motor City Comic Con in Detroit held May 18th thru the 20th.   It'll be my official first con behind the table so to speak, so I'm pretty excited and incredibly nervous to be around some amazing artists and creators.   I'll be at the table sketching and hanging out with fans, so if you're in the neighborhood, stop on by and say hi!  I'd love to meet ya!

Dark Knight Falls

Here's a commission piece I did a while back for a super cool collector up in New York.   Thanks Alex for giving me a chance to render out one of my dream scenes in comics!   Size:  15" x  20" on illustration board.  Medium:  Acrylics and Inks

Potter pencils

Lots of projects in the studio, but nothing finished yet to post, so I thought I'd post a pic of the pencils I did to the Potter piece I posted.    There's a lot of line work and rendering that gets completely covered in paint later so it seems kinda pointless to do it in the first place.    I've got no logical reason to why I do that, except to make more work for myself and no real purpose, except pencil mileage I guess.    Lack of experience I tell ya.   Gotta learn to paint better.   I'll try to step it up on the next one  I hope.   Thanks for checking out the site!
